I am Anupam Nischal, and Zodiac Maths is the independent tuition practice I have run alongside a school career spanning more than two decades. I retired as Head of Mathematics at St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School in Langley in 2019, and now tutor full-time.
The work has not grown old. There is still nothing quite like the moment a student stops being afraid of mathematics and starts enjoying it.

Former Head of Mathematics at St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School in Langley, with a PGCE from St Mary’s College, University of Surrey, QTS, Professional Tutor membership of The Tutors’ Association, and BSc (Hons) and MSc in Mathematics from the University of Delhi (both UK NARIC-accredited as UK degree-equivalent).
Online Tuition Since 2008
A four-screen multi-monitor setup with collaborative GoodNotes notebooks, used routinely with students across the UK, Europe and the Gulf. Online tuition is a core part of my practice, not an afterthought.
Track Record
Recent students include an Oxford offer-holder, a Year 11 grade 4 to grade 7 turnaround, a sustained record of grade 8 and 9 outcomes at GCSE and A* at A-Level, and a stream of students supported into Medical school.
What I tutor
I tutor across KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and Further Mathematics, the IB Diploma, Edexcel International A-Level, Cambridge International, and degree-level Mathematics — with particular strength in Oxbridge and Russell Group preparation, Medical school applications, A* A-Level outcomes, and high-stakes GCSE recovery.
